Bus Rules and Safety
Please read through the following information with your child. Make sure they are familiar with bus rules and general safety.
Bus Rules:
- Observe classroom conduct
- Be courteous
- Use NO profane language
- Do not eat or drink on the bus
- Keep the bus clean
- Cooperate with the driver
- Do not smoke
- Do not damage the bus or equipment
- Stay in your seat
- Keep head, hands and feet inside bus
- Do not fight, push or shove
- Do not tamper with bus equipment
- Do not bring pets on bus
- Do not bring glass on bus
- Do not bring flammable material on bus
- The bus driver is authorized to assign seats
Additional Safety Tips and Information:
- No hanging zipper pulls on backpacks
- No Gameboys, Nintendo DS, toys, etc…
- You must be picked up and dropped off at your own bus stop! You need a note otherwise.
- You need new permanent notes at the beginning of each year.
- If you’re sending a note with your child, make sure they are received at the office.
- Stay Back! When you are at your stop, wait until the bus comes to a complete stop and the driver opens the door before approaching.
- Small children should have a parent stand with them or be far enough back from the road so the driver can see them when stopping.
- Parents: NEVER drive up behind a bus and let a student run up to catch the bus from behind.
- Be ready at your stop five minutes before the bus comes.
- No more than one stop per house. Kids from the same family all need to get on together.
