Yes, this will be a commitment of your time lasting through the second semester. We will have 9 field trips to Rayioner job sites in the surrounding area, including the land neighboring our football field. (I will have permission slips for you to fill out.)
Yes, you will have to do some work, we will have some activities for you to demonstrate your learning while participating in various job experiences.
Yes, you will have to dress appropriately. You will have to provide (boots, cold weather clothing, rain gear). All safety gear will be provided by Rayonier (hard hats, high vis vests). We will also have PPE safety measures in place.
Learn about forestry, research, timber cruising, surveying, drone uses in forestry, road design and construction/rocking, tree nurseries/planting, surveying streams, and logging operations.
And, Grays Harbor Youth Works will be video-tapping the zoom session and the field trips (as well as interviewing people) to publish these videos on their website and facebook page. (I will have a video release for you to fill out, too.)
