• Course Design, Selection and Adoption of Instructional Materials

    The Wishkah Valley School Board recognizes its responsibility for the improvement and growth of the educational program of the schools. To this end, the course designs shall be evaluated, adapted and developed on a continuing basis. Instructional materials shall be selected to ensure alignment with state learning standards and enable all students to master foundational skills and knowledge to achieve college and career readiness.

     

    The District may incorporate screening tools to help comply with Washington state nondiscrimination law that requires screening criteria to identify and eliminate bias in all instructional materials as part of any adopted instructional materials policy, Elimination of bias Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 392-190- 055.

     

    The adoption Wishkah Valley materials is outlined in board policy, Curriculum Development and Adoption of Instructional Materials 2020 and Procedure 2020P.
